Four types of facilitation

 
Internal facilitation (from inside the organization)
External facilitation (from outside the organization)

example: a facilitator from the ES helps the ES faculty reach consensus on a new mathematics program
 
 
 

example: a facilitator from the High School, with no interest in the outcome,  helps the ES faculty reach consensus on a new mathematics program
 
Basic (Solve the problem)

example: a trained facilitator from the ES helps the ES faculty reach consensus on a new mathematics program and also learn new techniques for reaching group decisions.
 

example: a trained facilitator from the HS helps the ES faculty reach consensus on a new mathematics program and also learn new techniques for reaching group decisions.
 
Developmental (Solve the problem and help the group to improve)
