This is how a school's responsiblity grid might look.  Each school is different, so use this samnple only for ideas.  Most grids include many more decisions than are shown here.
The columns vary from school to school.  For example, some include additonal columns labeled "Board Committees," "Teacher committees," or "Community."

Notes:
     approval means that decison making has been delegated but that the adminstration retains rights of approval.
     inform means that the Board expects to be informed of the decison.
     input means that advice is sought, but decison making is not delegated.
     other decison areas might include staff benefits, student discipline, graduation requirements, a new Mission Statement, etc. etc.
