Jenny, Grant,
Kay, and
Ellis enjoy
the Sunday
market at a
nearby
small town.
The Fiedlers
were our
hosts for the
12 day holiday.

A trip to colorful
Chile
March 2003

Fishing boats on the coast, about two hours from Santiago.

The Fielders took us there for a weekend of watching seals, sea lions, and beach walking in a small resort town, followed by the hustle and bustle of Valparaiso, Chile's main port city.

Glenn and Kay examine "before and after"
wooden plates. We bought several, of course.
We used Glenn and Beverly's 4x4 to drive
to some scenic spots
in Southern Chile.

Kay stands
near a waterfall
on a rainy fall day.
The outdoor hot
thermal bath felt
good later.
Beverly, Kay,
and Glenn visit
the ranch of
Beverly's friend.
We were there searching
for the national flower of
Chile, and found hundreds
of beautiful examples.
.
Isleys, Fiedlers, Schramms, and Kristin gather by an autum fire.
All are friends from previous lives in Riyadh, Asia, and summers in Mallorca

Beverly shows Kay around the nursery she operates behind her small hotel in southern Chile.  The Aldriches were international educators who 14 years ago decided to try their hand at operating a B&B.  It has grown to nine beautful rooms  with a fine international restaurant. Take a look at their website!

Colorado?  Nope.  The view from the Isley's home
on the outskirts of Santiago.  We were very impressed
with the faculty housing, the international school, and
the well-run, clean, safe, and fairly inexpensive country
in general.
