surgical technician, of Monroe, Arkansas

Below:  staff of Medical Detachment, Engineer Battalion, Army Air Corps, Naha Field, Okinawa  (Ellis is standing, 2nd from left) Taken December, 1945, 4 months after the Hiroshima bomb and VJ day, but some Japanese troops were still hiding in the backwoods.  The Battalion was rebuilding the air field at Naha that is now the main commercial airport on Okinawa.
